Spicy And Aromatic Fried Chicken

Spicy And Aromatic Fried Chicken
I used to be one of those people who tried to figure out KFC recipe. I tried everything, but it had never succeeded. I come to understand now that KFC is something that meant to be bought and enjoy outside my kitchen. Now, other kind of fried chicken, on the other hand, different from KFC, spicy and aromatic, and wonderfully can be whipped up in my kitchen quickly.

The intense flavor of spices and the aroma of fresh herbs crust on the chicken, making a crispy layer on the outside. This bite size fried chicken is soaking in fragrant marinade, and while frying, the delicious perfume rise from hot oil.

Spicy and Aromatic Fried Chicken

Ingredients: (2 servings)

250 gm boneless chicken- cut into bite size

1 tbsp ground coriander seed

1 tsp ground cumin seed

1/2 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp turmeric power

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

8 cloves garlic

6 shallots

2 tbsp chopped ginger

1 green chili

A handful of fresh mint leaves

A handful of fresh coriander leaves

1 egg

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp corn flour

Oil for deep-frying

Preparation

  1. In food processor, add garlic, ginger, shallots, green chili, mint and coriander leaves. Blend until smooth.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add blended herbs mixture and the rest of the ingredients except oil. Mix well and let the chicken marinade for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in the deep fryer over the medium heat. When the oil is hot, deep fry the chicken until golden brown. Serve hot with some salad and chili sauce.

The smell of spices and herbs was exotic and alluring. The chicken was crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. It’s no KFC, but I don’t see why we shouldn’t love it.

Have a beautiful day,
