3 Exotic Oreo Cupcakes That Could Change Your Life

3 Exotic Oreo Cupcakes That Could Change Your Life

I love Oreos and I love cupcakes. I also love exotic Oreo flavors and experimenting with junk food to create scarily delicious edible concoctions. So I put my skills to good use and came up with three breeds of exotic Oreo cupcakes. For those of you that follow me on Instagram, you are probably very aware of my recent crazy Oreo cupcake binge. For those of you that don’t, you’re about to learn a lot about what I do when I come home to the suburbs for a day. Here are my crazy cupcakes and how to make them.

Tips to keep in mind before you get started :

  • Wear baggy clothes because you won’t be able to stop yourself from eating the Oreos in front of you, tasting the batter, and “taste testing” your cupcakes.
  • Make a few extra cupcakes because you will “taste test” at least 4
  • If you live alone, invite friends over
  • If you have no friends, donate the cupcakes you can’t eat to the homeless

Birthday Cake Oreo Funfetti Cupcakes with Funfetti Cream Cheese Frosting

eggs (how many depends on what mix you use)
vegetable oil (measurement depends on what mix you use)
water (how much depends on what mix you use)

2 cups powdered sugar

4 oz.  unsalted butter, softened
1 cups powdered sugar

Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Oreo Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Banana Butter Cream Frosting

Ingredients:

1 or 2 boxes peanut butter Oreos (depending on how much you want to make)
eggs (how many depends on what mix you use)
vegetable oil (measurement depends on what mix you use)
water (how much depends on what mix you use)
devil’s food chocolate cake batter (boxed or just make your own…I once again used Pillsbury because it was like 2 dollars #poorcollegestudent)
2 bananas
1 jar of peanut butter (preferably smooth peanut butter, I used chunky because that’s all I had but smooth is better)
4 oz. cream cheese (1 pack), softened
4 oz.  unsalted butter, softened
baking flour (optional)
1 cups powdered sugar

Cupcakes:

1) Preheat oven 350 degrees.
2) Read the instructions on your box and make the batter. This will probably mean putting eggs, cake mix, vegetable oil and water into the bowl and mixing until it is smooth and silky.
3) Mash banana and put into the batter with tablespoon of peanut butter. Mix.
4) Put cupcake liners into your cupcake pan.
5) Add peanut butter Oreos each cupcake holder.
6) Pour batter over Oreos and put in the oven to bake.

Icing:

I honestly just threw a bunch of stuff into the bowl and kept mixing until it tasted good. But here is what you can do for a buttercream banana peanut butter frosting. I actually ended up using flour to thicken my frosting, something that is weird but tasted really good.

1) Get a mixer or bowl.
2) Beat together 1/2 cup peanut butter, banana, and 1 stick of butter.
3) Add powdered sugar and 3 pinches of salt. (If this tastes too sweet, keep adding salt to equalize).
4) This is optional and something weird that I did. The consistency of my batter was very buttery, so I added a touch of baking flour to the mix to give it a thicker consistency. I liked it and it ended up tasting very good.
5) Taste your icing to make sure the powdered sugar didn’t make it too sweet. If so, add more peanut butter and salt.

If my recipe scares you, here’s another from Cookooree.

(You can change the measurements depending on how strongly you want your icing to taste of banana or peanut butter.)

Once your cupcakes are done baking….

6) Take cupcakes out of the oven and let them sit for like 10 minutes.
7) Eat one to make sure its good, which it will be.
8) Ice your cupcakes. (Topping with Oreo halves is optional, banana slices could be more delicious).
9) Take an artistic photo for Instagram.

10) Eat.

Now you should probably work out.
